an awesome encounter
Thursday, August 1, 2013,
today, as i was sitting all by myself in the outpatient pharmacy waitin' area, a chinese uncle approached me. we talked, and he shared his medical conditions with me. i rmmbered a prof once told me, TAKE TIME TO TALK WITH UR PATIENTS. THEY HAVE SO MUCH TO TELL, AND U HAVE SO MUCH TO LEARN. DONT B STINGY WITH UR TIME. and i was glad, i followed her advice. coz it was a fruity conversation.
of many things that he said, this is one of his line that i like the most,
"Now u r young, work as hard as u can. find money, and perform ur HAJJ. then when u r old like me, and u have retired, go to the mosque and teach the youngsters on ur religion. be beneficial to ur religion. bcoz in the end, at my age, u will realise, MONEY IS NOTHING compared to being useful to the society and ur DEEN."
subhanallah. i was stunned. and this came out from a non-muslim. he shared some more of his wonderful life experience, and before i left, he reminded me this,
"When u wanna make a promise with someone, dont say, I WILL DO IT IF I CAN, but instead, say INSYAALLAH. bcoz if god does not allow it to happen, things wont happen. right? i learn this from my muslim friends. they were all good people with good values."
as i left, i cant help smiling, yet feeling rather small on the inside. this fellow, knows so much about my religion, and he even take time to remind me of it. what about me? i have learnt about all these things since i was small, but how many people have i delivered this message to? and his muslim friends, they must have been really awesome people, showed him qudwah hasanah, till he remmbers it even when they are gone. may Allah helps me to b one of those people, where when others see me, they are reminded of Allah n islam.
im still in a learning process. i might b slow, but i know, if i keep on trying, i'll b there. insyaAllah.
